You are fire - your dress is fire
The spring-summer 2015 collection by Karina Galstyan is inspired by the culture and folk costume of Armenia. The latter is reflected in the styling of the models and the lines of the cut of the products.
The collection uses silk fabrics with an original print of a stylized pomegranate. Since ancient times, the pomegranate has been considered a symbol of natural beauty and the unity of all things. In the Armenian tradition, the pomegranate is a symbol of life, prosperity, marriage, as well as wealth and fertility, because pomegranate trees give their fruits all year round. The red color of the pomegranate is associated with prosperity and vitality, and the grains - with childbirth. In folk costume, the red color was considered a symbol of the feminine principle and a talisman.
White is the color of innocence and nascent love - it is also present in the collection. The red color fills and saturates the collection from nuanced inclusions to complete saturation. Also, the feeling of love, like pomegranate juice, tart and sweet, fills a person, dispersing blood throughout the body, filling it with warmth and heat from the heart to the fingertips.
The collection also includes such natural colors as beige, blue, turquoise, shades of flowering trees.
The collection uses natural fabrics: silk, cotton, hand-knitted wool.
The name of the collection is borrowed from the famous director Sergei Parajanov. His metaphorical film, filled with poetic images and symbolism, was one of the sources of inspiration for the collection
The collection is complemented by hand knitting from the Tatti Crochet brand by Tatyana Ivashkova
