Life is a series of small holidays, parties, pleasant pastimes outside the city or in a friendly environment. These moments are pasted into our memory, imprinted in the subconscious. Pictures, sounds, touches, smells, tastes, sensations, impressions. All this leaves an imprint on us. This is our impression of the world: of the day gone by, a pleasant acquaintance, a summer evening somewhere far from the bustle of the city. The water splashes by the shore, the sun sets, spreading along the horizon; the reflection of the sunset in a glass; rough warm stones, a soft wind somewhere high up in the foliage, and here, in the hair; sand; music; the deep cornflower sky smells of sweets... But in the same way we leave our mark on the world, our imprint. Your impression, perhaps a momentary sensation, for a moment...
This was the main source of inspiration for the Karina Galstyan spring-summer 2014 collection. Life in its momentary perception. The impression that the world makes on us; the impression that we make on the world. Clothes, being a reflection of our "I", are the very first, most accurate and easily readable conductor of it outward.
The fabrics in the collection are mainly natural, pleasant to the touch: cotton, silk, cambric, denim. Hand dyeing and etching were used in the processing. The cut is based on plant forms. The color palette is inspired by impressionist artists.
